AZERTIA,
working with the client, developed specifications for a new
Java based work order system. The new system addressed all
of the client requirements via a scaleable and flexible
architecture design that also enabled roll out to other
operating units of the parent company as needed.
Java was
selected as the programming language of choice given its
ability to run on various operating systems. The application
was designed to work with either an SQL-Server or Oracle
backend database component.
The
application also included a handheld PDA component where
users in the field can view and enter information related to
any work order. This application component is built on the
widely used PALM Operating System (OS).
Additionally, AZERTIA assisted in migrating the Client’s
existing data to the new database structure thus enabling an
active robust system at start-up. |
