Database Creation and Maintenance Services
Azertia provides a complete array of services that enable municipalities and infrastructure utilities to quickly build, deploy and maintain the digital data sets necessary to support operation of a work flow based AM/FM/GIS (Automated Mapping /Facilities Management /Geographic Information System) within their enterprise.
Our extensive experience in development of water, wastewater, storm and other municipal and utility application solution databases enables you to achieve the most cost-effective implementation possible. Databases may be developed from a variety of sources, both hardcopy and digital, and converted directly into an intelligent GIS or AM/FM database.
Further, once your database and system is operational, we don't leave you to fend for yourself. Rather, we offer you ongoing
Data Maintenance services that enable you to let your people focus on using the data rather than becoming "experts" in mapping technologies. All this, keeping your data current and eliminating in-house complexity, at far less cost than you ever thought possible. Services include:
-
Global Positioning Satellite (GPS) Surveys - A very cost-effective and highly accurate field audit of your infrastructure assets (hydrants, valves, manholes, catch basins, culverts, curb boxes, sidewalks, signage, etc.) are an excellent method for quickly developing a comprehensive digital database.
Azertia uses industry leading Trimble Navigation Limited GPS equipment which enables us to locate assets with
typical horizontal and vertical accuracies of 1 to 3 and 3 to 5 feet respectively. Further, GPS field surveys enable collection and/or verification of selected infrastructure asset related attribute data such as material types, manufacturer and alike. This level of information is vital for efficient operations and to satisfy impending mandates such as GASB 34 accounting rules and EPA Phase II storm and sewer requirements.
Here is a list of assets we capture in field:
| Fire Hydrant |

Data Maintenance
Services - Azertia provides data maintenance service agreements whereby clients outsource the complex and costly tasks associated with updating and maintaining infrastructure asset networks and/or land base digital data layers. Essentially, we act as your in-house staff at far less than real in-house staff would otherwise cost. Data updates can be provided on any agreed regular scheduled basis in accordance with the client needs.
Hardcopy Map Conversion -
Both land base (curb lines, parcels, highways, railroads, rivers, streams, streets, etc.) and asset network (mains, valves, water lines, hydrants, culverts, .etc.) information can be captured from existing maps. Maps can be scanned and converted to a digital format which can be imported directly into an intelligent AM/FM database.
-
Scanning and Indexing of Records and Sketches - Existing hard copy records such as valve books, tap service records, valve/hydrant maintenance data, and sketches can be electronically scanned and indexed at the proper location within the mapping database and then stored as compressed digital images. These images can be accessed directly using
Azertia' FACTS
Viewer product or other image viewing software and can be made available over a network or a laptop computer for direct field use.
-
Import and Conversion of Digital Maps (AutoCAD DXF, DWG, Shape files, etc.) - Existing digital maps and/or drawings in AutoCAD or other digital file formats can be imported and converted for direct use within an intelligent AM/FM database.
-
Quality Assurance/Quality Control (QA/QC) -
Azertia will work with the client to put in place a QA/QC plan and procedure to ensure that the data captured meets all client requirements. Further,
Azertia offers QA/QC consultation services for verifying quality standards for a client's data conversion vendors.
