Managing
Public Works Assets
Azertia has specifically designed the
FACTS Viewer
Public Works XF (eXtended Function) module to:
-
Enable comprehensive management and monitoring of public works assets including highway signage, sidewalks and streetlights.
-
Address regulatory
mandates for GASB 34 by keeping condition assessment and
maintenance information on every asset.
-
Provide for routine and ad hoc information access and reporting.
-
Support "work flow" based operations update of the asset systems.
Be it sidewalk condition assessment,
street cleaning and repair, culvert management and/or signage
maintenance, the FACTS XF Public Works module database design provides for the capture and maintenance of the data you need to implement a public works asset management system.
For public works assets, this includes side walks and curbs, highway signage and street lights.
Finding the Services You Need
Your public works asset management system is only as good as the data you put into your database.
Azertia provides an array of
services necessary to build and maintain your public works assets.
1.
Conduct a GPS
field inventory of street signage. The field work captures the
location of the signs, the condition rating for each sign, a
detailed description of the asset and optionally a digital
picture of the sign. Municipalities use this information to
perform signage studies, prioritize maintenance of signs and
create web based systems for the public to report signage
problems.
2.
Conduct a field
inventory of sidewalks and curbs. The field work captures the
condition rating for sidewalk and curb segments. A rating is
assigned to each section of sidewalk and curb. In the GIS
database this information is used to better plan for sidewalk
and curb upgrades and improve annual cost estimation to maintain
these assets.
3.
Conduct a GPS
field inventory of utility poles owned by a municipality. With
such a study, municipalities are able to use the database to
more accurately charge commercial telephone, cable and/or
electric companies that make use of the municipal utility poles.
Some clients have seen a dramatic increase in revenues as a
result of such projects.
4.
Azertia has
performed various mapping projects to create parks, recreation,
walking/running track and other GIS database layers for
municipal mapping systems.
