FACTS Viewer Basic Edition
FACTS Viewer Basic Edition is an easy to use, intuitive general map viewer. The application enables users to view both vector and raster map data and perform a variety of map manipulation functions. The Basic Edition provides features that enable users to very easily pan & zoom the map display, query the map database, perform buffering and measurement tasks, add custom map labels, perform address matching, attach and link images, print maps and custom reports.
Query
FACTS Viewer supports various types of attribute and spatial queries. Examples include:
-
Query By Attribute: Search for a parcel by owner name or Parcel Identification Number (PIN).
-
Spatial Query: Find all parcels that lie within 100 feet of a selected parcel.
-
Intersection Search: Search for a street intersection.
-
Address Search: Search for a specific or generic address.
Users can create and save standard queries to automate data retrieval and reporting for their regular and ongoing work tasks and reporting needs.
Printing
Printing in FACTS Viewer is a simple, easy-to-use one button operation. Users can add options such as titles and can also manipulate the scale size of their printouts. FACTS Viewer printing, unlike other mapping applications, is designed for the average user with little or no mapping experience.
Buffering & Measurements
Users can create buffer zones around any feature on the map to identify adjacent or included information. For example, users could create a buffer zone to identify wetlands areas within 500 feet a proposed construction site. In addition FACTS Viewer Basic Edition enables users to measure distances between any features within the map display. For example, water department personnel could locate the position of a valve or curb box on the map display and then print the map for
field use.
Reporting
Users can easily generate both standard and ad-hoc reports for any of the features in the map database. This includes automating generation of mailing lists for notification operations based on parcel or similar map information.
Thematic Mapping
Users can create color coded thematic maps based on feature attributes. For example, municipal users can easily create zoning maps by color coding parcels based on their zoning designations (R1, LI, C1, etc.). In addition, users can add a variety of labels and label types to customize their thematic map needs.
Enterprise Integration
FACTS Viewer can be configured to provide for an integrated graphical user entry point to information across your enterprise including integration of existing (external) databases such as the Customer Information System (CIS) for meter and billing data within a water utility operation. Once integrated, this data can then be visualized in graphical (map) format for viewing, printing and reporting.
Imaging
The FACTS Viewer architecture provides for integrating use of almost any image type (orthophotograph, scanned image, digital picture, etc.) thus enabling users to extend the information architecture of their mapping database. |
